They cannot hide flaws in the wood on a blonde guitar, which is why I only have blondes at this time. You have excellent taste in guitars in any case. I realize that these are a bit pricey compared to the $1599 they ask for the Studio PP, but the two guitars, although quite similar looking, can not be compared to each other. The LP AAA Standard has a similar looking neck. If you want to see somewhat how the neck looks, as they don't really show a picture of it, bring up the SG Select and check out the neck. They all need to be set up and played until they are broken in and play smoothly. They never come set up to your personal taste, so don't expect it to play as you like right out of the box. I used it for about 2 months, and would still have it today except the local GC got in several Les Paul AAA Standards which is a GC/MF exclusive of which only 400 were made.īasically, it is the same looking guitar as the Studio PP, but is a LP Standard done in blonde with a flame maple neck.
